Materials Specialist (Data-entry, etc.)

Reports to: Logistics Manager

Location: Hudson, WI

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for preparing, verifying for correctness and maintaining shipping records, and making up Bills of Ladings and entering weights.


SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:

  • Operates computer accurately.
  • Accounts for all sales orders and prepares them for distribution to the appropriate crating areas.
  • Prepares sales orders for shipment throughout the day.
  • Verifies all completed shipments for correctness.
  • Ships all sales orders using Vantage, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Prepares paperwork for carriers, package labels, packing slips, and Bills of Lading (BOL's) accurately.
  • Answers the phone, takes messages, and responds to incoming emails via Outlook.
  • Distributes paperwork with accuracy to the appropriate areas.
  • Performs any necessary computer transactions.
  • Communicates with dispatchers by phone to coordinate pickups of non-dedicated carriers.
  • Email dedicated carriers with pick-up ready times.
  • Acts as back-up support person for UPS shipping clerk.
  • Receive inventory to stock (via job traveler) and transfers products from one location to another
  • Assists Supervisor in cycle counting miscellaneous parts.
  • Complies with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Collects Shipping mail several times and distributes to proper areas.
  • Send/receive faxes
  • Prints pick lists for Shipping
  • Marks on paperwork what parts are being back ordered.
  • Copies SSIs for file.
  • Works elsewhere as required.

SAFETY TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Complies with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, organized work area.
  • Reports to Supervisor any unsafe equipment or conditions that exist.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • High school diploma, GED/HSED
  • Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office
  • Basic shipping knowledge
